A steep and formidable site with limited access provided
a challenge to construct; the site was to be found on fill
which required significant engineering to achieve the end
result. Large excavation, foundations that were suspended
and piered to rock with extensive drainage were undertaken
to retain the site.
To reduce the visual size of the retaining wall planter boxes
with stone cladding were constructed along with spotted gum
seating and daybed creating a relaxing & enjoyable setting.
To compliment the site sandstone paving, and steps were
constructed with plants providing privacy and shade. Hidden
storage areas under steps to conceal pool filtration and kid’s
equipment were integrated.
